Why textures? Photographing textures is somewhat challenging. You have to take into account a lot of factors like composition, depth and light. Okay, these challenges are also present in like say portraits or street photography or any type of photography for that matter. Yet, textures is all about that. The texture is only truly ‘visible’ through its patterns, its colours and its depth of field. Otherwise it will feel ‘flat’ in a sense. The illusion of actual texture is difficult to capture. So… of course I try to see if I can capture all of that. It’s a nice way to hone my skills.
